  • SpendWise: AI-Powered Full-Stack Expense Tracker

    Built a responsive React.js frontend and a Node.js/Express.js REST API with 14 endpoints on MySQL using Sequelize ORM in an MVC architecture; deployed on Render and Vercel. Secured the application with JWT authentication, bcrypt password hashing and rate limiting on login and password-reset endpoints. Implemented server-side pagination, search and filtering for efficient expense management. Integrated Google Gemini API for automatic expense categorisation and Cashfree for payments; added dashboard charts and budget alerts.

  • Group Chat: Real-Time Chat Application

    Built a real-time messaging application with group chat, private chat, online presence and typing indicators using Socket.IO, React.js, Node.js and Express.js. Implemented JWT authentication and authorization for REST APIs and Socket.IO connections, with per-user rooms for private messaging. Integrated Redis with the Socket.IO Redis Adapter to enable scalable communication across multiple server instances. Designed the MySQL schema with Sequelize ORM on an Aiven cloud database, using indexed queries and paginated message history. Added media sharing (images, video, audio, files) with Multer using file type and size validation, and Gemini API reply suggestions.
