Job Summary We are seeking an experienced MSSQL DBA Operations Support Subject Matter Expert SME to manage and support our MSSQL database systems The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database management performance optimization backup and recovery data integrity and troubleshooting using specific tools and technologies

Key Responsibilities

Database Management

oInstallation Configuration Upgrades Set up and maintain MSSQL systems including upgrades and patches using SSMS and SQL Server Configuration Manager

oStorage Management Allocate storage manage tablespaces and plan for future needs using SQL Server Data Tools SSDT

oUser Management Create and manage user accounts permissions and access using Active Directory and SQL Server security features

oSecurity Implement and maintain protection using SQL Server Audit and Transparent Data Encryption TDE

Performance Optimization

oMonitoring Track performance and identify bottlenecks using SQL Server Profiler Performance Monitor and SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer

oTuning Tune parameters SQL queries and indexes using Database Engine Tuning Advisor DTA and Query Store

Backup and Recovery

oBackups Regularly back up databases using SQL Server Maintenance Plans and Redgate SQL Backup

oRecovery Restore databases and resolve corruption using SSMS and Quest LiteSpeed

Data Integrity

oData Modeling Design and implement efficient schemas using Microsoft Visio and ERStudio

oData Validation Ensure accuracy and consistency using SQL Server Data Quality Services DQS

Collaboration

oUser Support Provide training and support on database access and use

Troubleshooting

oProblem Solving Identify and resolve issues using SQL Server Error Logs and Extended Events

oDocumentation Maintain configuration and procedure docs using Confluence and SharePoint

Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills

oStrong knowledge of MSSQL database systems and related technologies

oExperience with database installation configuration and upgrades

oProficiency in storage management user management and security implementation

oExpertise in performance monitoring tuning and optimization

oKnowledge of backup and recovery processes

oFamiliarity with data modeling and validation techniques
