How does HiringAnt's AI interviewer work?
You set it up once per job. After that, interviews run without anyone from your team joining a call.
Set it up from your job description
Turn on the AI interview when you post a job. HiringAnt drafts up to six questions and the topics to cover; you add your own, and set the length, the completion window (5 days by default) and the tone.
Invite candidates
Invite one candidate or every shortlisted one at once. Each gets an email with their own link, starts any time before the deadline, and is reminded 48 hours before it closes. On Pro, invites go out automatically on shortlist.
Anty interviews them
One question at a time, out loud. Anty waits for the full answer, then asks for a concrete example if it was vague, or goes deeper if it was strong.
You review and decide
After the interview you get an email with the score and recommendation. Watch the recording, check the ratings, then click Advance to move the candidate to your human round, or Reject.
Candidates need a camera, a microphone and a quiet place; there is nothing to install. They consent to their screen, camera and audio being recorded before starting, get 45 seconds to rejoin if the connection drops, and never see their score.
What do you get after each AI interview?
A result page per candidate, with the evidence behind each number. Each answered topic links to its moment in the recording, so you can check the AI's reading without rewatching the interview.

How is the score worked out?
The scoring model rates what the candidate demonstrated, not what they claimed, and its instructions forbid name, gender, age, caste, religion or school from moving a score. An interview that ends too early is marked incomplete, with no score and a suggested retake.

Questions employers ask about AI interviews
Is HiringAnt's AI interviewer a one-way video interview?
No. In a one-way video interview the candidate records answers to fixed questions and nobody responds. Anty, HiringAnt's AI interviewer, holds a live spoken conversation and decides what to ask next from each answer. Candidates still take it whenever suits them before your deadline.
Can I use my own interview questions?
Yes. Every interview combines a core question (by default, "Please introduce yourself"), up to six questions generated from your job description, and your team's own questions. You can switch off the generated questions and set the topics every interview must cover.
Does the AI decide who gets hired?
No. It gives a 0-100 score and recommends advance, hold or reject, but a candidate's status changes only when someone on your team clicks Advance or Reject. Advancing moves the candidate to your human interview round.
How does the AI interviewer flag possible outside help?
With browser integrity signals. The browser logs tab switches, lost window focus and a stopped screen share, and Anty flags answers that sound read out. Each appears with a timestamp on the result's Integrity tab, so you can go straight to that moment in the recording.
Do candidates see their AI interview score?
No. The score, the recommendation and the topic ratings are visible to your team only, never to the candidate.
