Instructional Designer (ID)

Role Overview

LCT is looking for freelance Instructional Designers (IDs) with proficient, practical knowledge of creating and managing Levels 1-3 e-learning courses. While content analysis and storyboarding are the primary requirements, experience in using an authoring tool to create SCORM-compliant output would be preferable.

Having practical knowledge about one or more LMSs and / or experience in team management would be a plus! 

Key Responsibilities

• Have strong analytical, logical, visualization, and content mapping skills.

• Have strong knowledge of ID principles and models.

• Be willing to contribute to elearning projects related to any computer technical and non-technical domain. 

• Be able to contribute 3-4 hours during the daytime on each working day. 

• Be proficient in English and MS Office.

• Be able to coordinate / communicate with the team from time to time.

• Be able to manage a team, if required.

• Be able to use AI, if required.

• Should be available on all weekdays not only weekends.

• Willingness to work on assignments across different subject areas based on project requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

• A certification/postgraduate qualification in Instructional Design or E-learning is an added advantage.

• Minimum 2-3 years of relevant Instructional Design/e-learning experience preferred. (Should have at least 6 months of experience is mandatory. We do not want freshers for this role.)

• Candidates with any educational background but strong relevant experience and a good e-learning portfolio may also be considered.

Desired Skills

• Strong understanding of instructional design principles and e-learning development processes.

• Experience in analyzing source content and converting it into clear, learner-friendly learning objectives and course structures.

• Strong storyboarding skills, including screen-level content, interactions, assessments, and visual/animation recommendations.

• Ability to create engaging learning experiences for both technical and non-technical topics.

• Experience reviewing storyboards, e-learning outputs, and course quality against project requirements.

• Exposure to LMS administration, course publishing, or SCORM package testing is an advantage.

• Working knowledge of authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar tools is preferred.

• Good written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to grammar, clarity, consistency, and detail.

• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, meet deadlines, and incorporate feedback.

• Comfortable using AI tools to support research, content development, ideation, quality checks, and other e-learning activities.

• Team coordination and stakeholder communication skills are an added advantage.
